Square Session: Yours & Me: 13th

LUSH Radio are proud to announce Yours & Mine as special guests for our first Square Session of the new semester. Yours & Mine are a three piece Retro-­Pop band formed on the Isle of Wight in early 2011. They cite Martha Reeves & and the Vandellas, Elvis, and Buddy Holly among their influences, this comes across in their sound and combined with an early-­Clash raw simplicity this creates a tight live set.

Square Session: Bleech: 13th

Two parts girl, one part boy, Bleech are an exciting and fresh new alternative band hailing from the capital. As part of their 2012 UK tour the band will be showcasing a stripped down performance for LUSH Radio’s Square Sessions. Their Debut EP Deadhead is out now!

Square Session: All The Young: 8th

From supporting The Wombats and Morrissey to receiving Zane Lowe’s ‘Hottest Record in the World’ accolade, All The Young are set to be 2012’s most exciting breakthrough act. The band will be providing an exclusive acoustic live session and interview as part of LUSH Radio’s ‘Square Sessions.’ Taking place in the heart of the Percy Gee this free event is not one to be missed, as next time these guys will be in Leicester they’ll most like be selling out the Academy!


October 2011

Square Session: Jersey Budd: 17th
Time: 2pm Location: The Square, Percy Gee


Jersey Budd will be joining LUSH Radio for its first Square Session of the year this October. The Leicester musician has been gaining praise and recognition ever since the release of his first album ‘Wonderland’ in 2008, being compared to such legends as Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen. Budd has been working non-stop, from supporting the likes of Kasabian, Amy McDonald and James Morrison, to recording with Leicester City FC. Budd is set to follow up on his acclaimed debut album later this year with a second release. This free event is not one to be missed, and is a rare chance to catch Budd in such intimate surroundings.

Fresher’s Fair: 3rd & 4th

Whilst you’re checking out all the Union has to offer at this year’s Fresher’s Fair be sure to check out LUSH Radio’s Live Stage. We’ll be hosting the best of University of Leicester’s musical talent including live acoustic sets, award-winning LUSH DJ’s and a variety of local bands, held in conjunction with the Band and Gig Society.  If you’re interested in getting involved in LUSH Radio, as a presenter, producer, or event organiser don’t forget to come see our stall which will be right in the heart of the Percy Gee.
